Tree House, North Sydney

There is a nice inside dining area with a quite classy decore at Tree House. There's also a more casual vibe outside. Tree House is known for its fries with aioli ($9, below). I love their fries, they must be fried a few times because they are so crunchy and tasty with the aioli. I've yet to come to Tree House and not ordered the fries.

Above is the prawn gnocchi which was delicious. The potato was light, fluffy and tasty. Below is the 220g eye fillet ($34, below) which was perfectly cooked, pink in the middle with a giant mushroom, asparagus in a creme sauce. The eye fillet was a simple but a well executed dish. I would recommend both dishes from the dinner menu.

I also came here on another occasion and ordered from the bar menu. At the very top is the Gin Cured Ocean Trout ($17) with celeriac and seeded mustard remoulade. It was a great snacky dish along with the meatballs ($21, below) which is quite spicy. The Spicy Meatballs, comes with crusty ciabatta bread and is topped with basil. Delicious!

Another great experience at Tree House!  I miss it now that I'm not working in North Sydney
