Oiden Bowl Restaurant, Sydney CBD

Cheap and Cheerful rice based dishes await at Oiden Bowl Restaurant.
Oiden is a casual cafeteria-type restaurant where you pick your base meal and you can add on additional sides to your food tray. It's located just off George st, near World Square. It's a very popular haunt with many students and locals eating at Oiden. Zomato has a rating of 4.3/5 which is very high. This is likely because it's high on value and high on taste.

This is a well known and popular haunt however if you haven't been here recently, there's a new washoku lover benefit. For $9.90, you can get a half curry and hashed beef dish with rice, egg, radish and cabbage salad AND a lemon tea. It was a very for value combination (below). Japanese curry is mildly sweet but I enjoyed it with the beef, radish and egg. It's a homely meal. The lemon tea is sweet and compliments the meal.

For those who like a bit of variety, you can also choose three little dishes (above) for $9.90. I choose the stewed beef and chicken karaage and the raw minced salmon belly as my three choices. Apparently there is a limit on the three mini choices, the poster says 50 per day. My favourite was the chicken karaage which was sprinkled with mayonnaise.

As I mentioned earlier, you'll have some additional options to choose from. The small desserts above of Pancake with red bean, raspberry mochi and seaweed ranged from 90c to $2. For a bit of crunchy textures, you may opt to choose from the fried selection (below).

Stop by for a casual meal or snack!!! Please note Weekendfoodescapes dined as a guest of Washoku Lovers.
