Mad Fo Chicks, Eastwood

Mad Fo Chicks is a little snack restaurant by Eastwood Station

I've walked by Mad Fo Chicks in Eastwood a number of times and make a subconscious effort to
check it out some time. I notice it's got a number of snack offerings but has also changed so they
order larger servings of chicken.

In a desperate bid to find a potato stick, Mel and I go on a potato frenzy and order chips as well as a
potato on a stick ($4.5). The potato is a bit thicker than you typically find for a potato stick at your
local food truck or festival however the flavouring is quite nice. Yum.

Hoping for a bit of a spicy noodle, I also order the topokki ($10) which is a rice cake noodle. It was served in a watery soup. It would have been nice in a thicker broth and without the other random bits of cabbage, tofu skin.

I also try a small ($6, above) mild marinated chicken which is boneless. It's perfect for a snack sized portion of chicken. It's mostly crunchy marinated skin so if that's what you like then go for it. I come back a second time to try their larger portions of korean fried chicken. The bigger portions come with side dishes of radish and kim chi. I order a half portion of the original fried chicken and the other of a sweet and spicy chicken. The bigger portions of chicken are quite nice. The skin is crispy and the chicken is quite moist.

There's a lot of competition when it comes to Korean Fried chicken in Eastwood so they have their work cut out for them to compete with the locals. I'd definitely come back for the tornado chip snacks! I would probably go elsewhere for chicken in Eastwood.

Prices: $4.5-10 for snacks. $32ish for a full portion of chicken

Location: 18 Railway Parade, Eastwood

Summary: Lisa's Rating:
Food: 6/10 for snacks, cheap and cheerful
Customer Service: 7/10
Atmosphere: 7/10
Value: 7/10
