The Ginger Tiger, Parramatta, Taste Food Tour - Tourist Edition Part 4

Australia is a great melting pot of cultures. The Taste Food Tour, Rivercat Tourist edition is a great way to get way to get a taste of many culture within one. This is part 4 of the tour.

As part of the Taste Food Tours, I had experienced a lovely rivercat boat ride along with some treats on the way. This is part 4 of my experience. This tour is great for tourists that are looking to experience the mix of cultures in Australia. For those who do not know, Taste Food Tours is a charity organisation that looks to spread the word of cultural diversity through food tours that employ refugees or those who come from a diverse background.

One of the great things about Australia is the high quality of Thai food. In any pub or restaurant, it feels impossible to get bad thai. There are varying degrees of great thai but I feel like the quality of Thai is very high in Sydney.

Tourists will get exposure to some key favourites in Sydney from the Ginger Tiger which is based in the Collector Hotel in Parramatta.

On the Taste Food Tour, we share a number of dishes including the Tom Yum Fried Rice. It's not spicy at all to my surprise but it's a safe and reliable thai fried rice. The fried rice has a nice balance of vegetables including broccoli, carrots, onion and mushroom. I was hoping for a tom yum flavour coming through but it was very safe in terms of spice and flavour.

Our group also share some of the Pad See Ew which has flat rice noodles with greens and egg. It's a soy sauce based dish that is stir fried. Again, it's nice and reliable dish to eat. It's pleasant for a pub thai. I wonder if the staff have dulled down the bold flavours for the Australian palette.

We also share a chilli basil stir fry vegetable dish which has bamboo shoots, beans, carrot, broccoli, mushrooms and basil. The flavours are nice but not as bold as I'm used to.
The vegan girls in the group eat most of this dish.

Everyone gets into the Fried chicken to really finish off the meal. Fried Chicken makes everything better. This is probably my favourite dish although part of me is craving my usual pad thai with prawns.

After lunch, the next part of the Taste Food Tour we walk along the Parramatta River and enjoy some of the art on the way. It's been a nice tour for tourists so far.
