Suminoya Japanese, Martin Place, Sydney CBD

Everyone loves a BBQ! Suminoya Japanese specialises in Japanese BBQs in Martin Place.
Suminoya was buzzing full of customers when I arrive there for lunch mid week. Recommended by my friend Yuri, she believes Suminoya is a great place for Japanese BBQ and Bento Boxes. It's hard to find as you need to walk down an alley to find it.

With so many choices on the menu, my work colleague and I decide on two choices each for $17.90 on the Japanese BBQ grill. There is also the option of 3 choices for $24.90 for lunch. The two or three choices also came with rice, salad and sauces (below). There's also a $2 surcharge for the BBQ mesh on the grill. The meat above looked absolutely delicious. I couldn't wait to cook and eat the wagyu fingers.

The smell of meat cooking was in the air and making me so very hungry. Between my colleague and myself, we choose a variety of meat and seafood of Wagyu Beef Fingers, Beef Harami Chicken, Octopus and who could resist ordering some Scallops (3 came in the serving).

As the Wagyu Beef Fingers sizzled on the grill, I was practically drooling. I wanted a mix of medium rare and well done meat as I enjoy both textures. That first bite of that wagyu beef was amazing. The beef was so tender and flavoursome, fresh from the BBQ grill.

My work colleague and I started to pile all the food onto the grill. The smell was beautiful and I'm glad we choose a nice variety of meat and seafood. The chicken naturally takes a bit more time bit the red meat cooks more quickly. I quite enjoyed the calamari and the scallops as well.

Overall, I can see why Suminoya was very popular with all the local office workers. It's a nice spot if you have a decent hour for lunch and enjoy the tender, delicious taste of meat! If meat is not your thing, you also have a choice of other options such as a Bento Box. Yuri had the Bento Box B with Ton Katsu $19.8 (Below).

Check it out some time!
