Hard Rock Cafe, Darling Harbour, Sydney

Hard Rock Cafe currently has a WORLD BURGER tour which means for a limited time until 31st July, you should check out these burgs. OHHHH yeah.
I head to Hard Rock Cafe so I can try the limited edition burgers! I head there with burger lover KL and she points out the funky drum set hanging from the roof (below).

The WORLD TOUR BURGER menu looks enticing however I immediately eye off the Aloha burger which has pineapple on the burger. I LOVE pineapple on burgers (and pizzas).

The Aloha Burger ($19.95, below without chips) is the Honolulu inspired burger with certified angus beef, guac, monterey jack cheese, arugula, a grilled pineapple ring, sweet soy glaze and tomato salsa. It looks quite big.

Chips are separate and I order the Chilli Seasoned fries with chipotle garlic ketchup ($5). They are quite spicy but just enough to dance on your tongue.

There's also some cocktails to wash down the burgers. I try the cocktails that are supporting the burger world tour. First there's the All Jacked Up ($16.95, left above) is a mix of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey and Sailor Jerry spiced rum mixed with pineapple juice and lime juice. It's sweet and really easy to drink. It's a bit of a hit of liquer though!

For more of a traditional cocktail, the Melonpalooza ($16.95, above, right) has Malibu Rum, Midori Melon Liqueur, pineapple juice with mild flavours of sweet and sour. KL tells me this reminds her of her youth.

KL also shares the The Whiskey Burger (inspired by Brussels, Belgium, $19.95) which is a burger which is soaked in a whiskey marinade, bacon, crispy fried red onion, melted cheddar, garlic aioli, tomato and arugula. I really like the crispy red onion. Ohhh yeah.

With this one I order the herb and garlic fries with chimichurri sauce $5. They are crunchy with a visible herb and garlic salt on top. Yum.

Overall, I would prefer the Aloha burger as the combination of the pineapple, guac and angus beef is soooo delicious. The burger is very filling but you can't go without chips.

The Whiskey burger is also nice if you don't like pineapple on burgers. There's quite a bit of bacon and fried onion on that one. They're not the best burgers in Sydney but the burgs are still very tasty. It's worthwhile checking out if you are in the area. It's also a bit pricier for burger and chips but this is typical for the Darling Harbour area. Grill'd is also nearby and Pub Life Kitchen is a short stroll away.

Price: $25 for burg with chips

Location: Upstairs, in Harbour Side Shopping Centre, 2-10 Darling Drive, Darling Harbour

Opening Hours: 12pm to midnight daily.
